Education Director

Amy Platenik has been working as the Educational Director for the ABC Empire Chapter since 2016. She is located at the Rochester Training Center but travels across New York State as needed. Amy’s 30+ years' experience allows her to take a unique perspective helping members uncover and develop their training needs.

Amy can develop or customize a specific topic or entire program to meet companies’ specific needs.  Amy is considered a Training Broker by providing training in all areas of OSHA construction safety, management and leadership programs, project management and human resource topics. She works closely with members and her twenty-one consultants to develop a training program for the member, leveraging relationships inspiring trust and building credibility across all she comes into daily contact. 

Amy is the Chapter’s lead on educating ABC members on our national safety program (STEP), growing participation by over 350%.  

She serves as a member of our Statewide Educational Committee to help develop and strengthen our chapter’s training programs as well.  Amy is also the chapter’s point person when working with community organizations looking to partner with ABC to help shrink the labor skills gap.

Highlights during her time at ABC include: 

• Created the custom training service at ABC and grew in the first year 100% participation 
• Served as Project Manager for all the NYC/DOB mandated Site Safety training working with all ABC members on Long Island & NYC area to provide all required training
• Helped develop an in-house electrical apprenticeship program
